Halloween Extravaganza 2013 Fun!

For some people, Halloween is a holiday to go trick-or-treating. For others, the best thing about Halloween is the candy, or maybe event the costumes. But for our group of Honors students, it was the chance to spend time together that was the highlight of the evening.

The Halloween Extravaganza of 2013 was the second annual Halloween party that has been hosted at Honors. Around 10 students showed up for the event, all wearing amazing and thoughtful costumes. Guest appearances from a Valkyrie, a 20's flapper, a blimp, a rebel leader, and even Willie Wonka made the evening interesting. Everyone started out by helping to decorate the Honors House. Favorite additions included pumpkins carved by students the night before, streamers throughout the living room, and an impaled head on top of a broom. (Don't worry, it was fake.)

There was also a TON of food! Spaghetti, desserts, fruit punch, and most importantly CANDY! Everyone left completely stuffed. During dinner, we watched the movie "Little Shop of Horrors," about a carnivorous plant that ends up killing not only all of the main characters, but also everyone on earth in a dramatic ending similar to an old Godzilla movie. After the movie, the characters in attendance played choice video clips of their characters on YouTube, and chatted for awhile before heading home.

The evening was a great experience, which will certainly continue next year. Thanks to everyone who came! It was a blast!
